Phoenix Mountain Oolongs ( "Phoenix Single Bush") are known for their highly specific and distinctive profiles. Tea farmers and masters from this region are known for cultivating tea plants by cloning an idiosyncratic mother tree, resulting in a batch of leaves that are all genetically identical. This produces the single-genome varietals known as dān cōng ("single bush").
This particular Phoenix Oolong is the famous Honey-Orchid variety. It brews a golden-orange liquor full of peach and lychee notes with a stone fruit aroma. When brewed correctly, the finish of this tea is without equal, with clear notes of the charcoal firing from processing.
Our Phoenix Oolong is one of the few Phoenix Oolong in China that can meet organic standards. Our tea garden is located on a high mountain at an altitude of 1,500 meters. The villagers here have lived here for generations, far away from the city. Pesticides have never been used, so our tea can meet zero pesticide residue standards.
