Golden Horse Eyebrow tea also known as “Jin Jun Mei” is processed with fresh young spring buds from WuYi Mountain in Fujian province. The buds dry into distinctive curled tea leaves resembling eyebrows, which is how the tea gets its name. Unlike many Lapsang Souchongs made for the western market, Jin Jun Mei is not smoky. Longyan (dragon eye) fruit is used in the processing to give a hint of sweetness to the smoky pine-like Lapsang tea flavor. Once steeped, it produces maple syrup golden tea liquor with a rich and aromatic taste of cocoa, honey, baked goods, molasses, and a hint of honeysuckle; and no bitterness whatsoever.
